Preparation Steps

1

Melt the Chocolate

In a pot over low heat, place the milk, chocolate, sugar and salt. Stir continuously with a wooden spoon until the chocolate is completely melted (about 8 minutes).

2

Make the Dough

Use the hot chocolate mixture (let it sit a little so you don't burn yourself) to hydrate the P.A.N Flour. and knead until you get a smooth texture.

3

Assemble the Arepitas

Make small arepas, measuring no more than 3 fingers in diameter. They are ideal in mini format to eat as a sandwich.

4

Double Cooking

Sear the arepitas in the budare or frying pan for about 3 minutes on each side. Then, take them to a preheated oven at 350ºF (180ºC) and cook them for 10 to 15 minutes so that they puff up and cook well inside.
